Principal’s Message

Dear Parents & Carers

It’s hard to believe that Term 1 is drawing to a close. It has been quite a busy term and I thank everyone for all they contribute to making this an amazing school community.

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break. We congratulate Georgia Campbell and Rachael Miller who were welcomed into our Catholic family at Saturday night’s Easter Vigil. This was a lovely celebration and it was wonderful to witness their commitment to their faith.

Not only was our Family Fun Night a great community event, it also raised money that will be put into our fund for new play equipment. After expenses we raised $4093.00. Again I thank Mrs Michelle Gittoes for overseeing this event.

Please be reminded that our Kinder teachers along with Elecia Turner, our Instructional Literacy Teacher will be facilitating a meeting, for Kindergarten parents, on this evening from 5.45pm-6.45pm. The meeting’s focus will be around reading. Children do not attend this meeting.

Next week we will celebrate Harmony Week. During the week students will delve into diversity, inclusion and the message “EVERYONE BELONGS!”  On Friday 12th April, we invite students to either wear orange or if possible, the colours/dress of their ancestry. There will be fun activities, a Harmony Day assembly recognising the diversity in our school and community. Throughout the week, all students will be involved in a whole school collaborative art project.

ANZAC Day, Dean St March:
Once again we have been invited to participate in the Dean St Anzac Day march. This will take place on Thursday 25th April. Although this is in school holidays, we are hoping for strong participation. Students are to wear their formal winter uniform. RSL details are as follows:
PRIMARY SCHOOLS:  to form-up by 8.45am in Macauley Street, on the north side of Dean Street in alphabetical order.

WEARING OF MEDALS:   A reminder that children wearing medals of family members are to wear them on the right breast.  Only a veteran may wear their medals over their heart on the left breast.

END OF MARCH:  All schools are to turn left into Townsend Street. All schools are to continue down Townsend Street towards the intersection with Smollett Street to ensure there is no congestion at the end of the march.

Mother’s Day stall will be held on Friday 10th May. Children are able to purchase 1 item each to the value of $5 and go in class groups during the morning. There is an even set up via the compass app. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

We are currently conducting interviews for our Kinder 2025 children. If you have a child that will start school next year please complete the online form ASAP. New families enrol via this link and existing families enrol via this link.
