Vinnies Winter Appeal ~ St Patrick’s Term 2 Fundraiser

Friday is PJ Day!!  Wear your warm PJ’s this Friday and bring a donation for the Vinnies Winter Appeal to help those children who are cold this winter in Australia.

Donations can also be made on Compass Events. 

The Sacrament of Confirmation

The Year 6 students will commence the Confirmation Program in Week 1 of Term 3. Information about Confirmation will also go home in Week 1. The dates for Confirmation are 4th & 5th September. Please add these important dates to your calendar.

Sunday Gospel

Last Sunday was the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Mark’s Gospel tells the familiar story of Jesus calming the storm.

That evening, Jesus said to his disciples, “Come with me across the lake.” He and the disciples left the people there. They went in the boat that Jesus was already sitting in. There were also other boats with them. A very strong wind came up on the lake. The waves began coming over the sides and into the boat until it was almost full of water. Jesus was at the back of the boat, sleeping with his head on a pillow. The disciples went to him and woke him. They said, “Teacher, do you not care about us? We will drown!” 

Jesus stood up and commanded the wind and the waves to stop. He said, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind stopped, and the lake became calm. 

Jesus said to his followers, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

The followers were very afraid and asked each other, “What kind of man is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

A mantra for this week…

Calm me, Lord, as you calmed the storm.

Each day, I will slow down in the midst of my

busy-ness and breathe. Jesus is in my boat!
