RE News

This week we celebrated Mercy Day at our school. We remembered the many Sisters of Mercy who shared the Good News of the Gospel with the students of St Patrick’s School. We welcomed Sr Anne, a Mercy sister and a wonderful educator in our Wagga Diocese, who joined us for our Paraliturgy. With the beautiful spring sunshine, we were able to hold our prayer service in front of  the rose garden which we have dedicated to Sr Pat, also a Mercy Sister who was a much loved teacher for many years at our school.

Our Liturgy concluded with a great rendition of “I Send You Out”, led by our Yr 6 students,  The staff and students of our school were really impressed with the vocals of these young students and we  eagerly await their Yr 6 performance in Term 4.

On Monday Oct 14, our school staff will participate in a Spirituality Day at school. We will put God’s Word into action as we serve Meals on Wheels to the community and visit the residents of Mercy Place. This will be a Pupil Free Day for all students of St Patrick’s School.

Here is an extract from our Paraliturgy this morning for you to reflect on :

Have You Met Mercy?

Mercy has  a face reflecting with kindness and she is never impressed by the importance of money. She is aware of simple pleasures and can make a party fun regardless of the money spent and the people invited.

Mercy feels blessed and safe in the care of her Maker, the God of the universe.

She rejoices in God’s creation and cares about the global community.

It is through her actions that we experience the love of God

Let us be Mercy to one another.

Happy holidays, Margy Brown
