Co-Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Term 3. We hope that you were able to relax with your children and share some family time during the Term 2 break.

On Monday we were joined by many parents and grandparents to celebrate Grandparents’ Day which coincided with the Feast of St Anne and Joachim, Jesus’ grandparents. We celebrated a beautiful Mass followed by morning tea, and then grandparents had the opportunity to visit our learning spaces. This was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and give thanks for the important role grandparents play in our lives. A big thankyou to all of you who were able to attend, particularly those who travelled long distances. There are lots of photos on our website galleries page.

Congratulations to our students who attended the Diocesan Athletics Carnival at Alexandra Park last week. All students competed to the best of their ability, representing our school with pride and sportsmanship. There were some great results throughout the day and a special congratulations to Aiden Hill who was the 11 year boy age champion.

Please keep the year 6 children and their families in your prayers as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. There is a parent/child meeting tonight at 7pm in St. Patrick’s Church for all candidates and parents.

Please be advised that the Albury City Council and local police are currently involved in an “education campaign” targeting school zones and parents parking illegally. Be aware you will be hit with a $344 on the spot fine if caught.

Just a reminder that ALL information will be via Compass (our new admin system) as of term 4.  There will be NO school stream app. You can add your child’s absentee notes via compass on the approval section. All parents have received a log in and password. If you don’t have this information please contact the office.

Last week you would have received notification that Rob has resigned from his position which will come into effect at the end of the year. My position here at St Pat’s was only a 12 month appointment, so as a result, the position of Principal(s) has been advertised nationally, and if everything goes to plan, in about 6 weeks the details of the new Principal(s) will be announced by Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CDEWW).

Regards

Liz & Rob
