Principal’s Message

Dear Parents

Welcome to Term 4 and all that it holds. Looks to be another busy one.

We welcome to our school community Emily Lam, Maggie Andriske, Elliot Robinson, Indiana Furnell, Will & Hudson Sykes and Scarlett & Quinn Meyer. We hope your time with us is enjoyable and rewarding.

As the weather warms, we will be transitioning into formal summer uniform. There are many students who are already wearing this which is fine. We would expect that all students will have moved to summer uniform by the beginning of week 3 – Monday, 23rd October. It is an expectation, that regardless of uniform, all students will wear their school hat whenever they are outside. There will be no transition period for this. Class teachers will be discussing the importance of this safety measure with classes, and we would appreciate parents supporting us in this area. There are designated areas in each of the playground zones for students to sit in the shade and not play if they do not have their hat. Hat’s are available from the office for $10 each.

This Friday, 13th October at 9.30am in the Mercy Hall our Year 3 classes will host the Assembly. All parents and family members are welcome to join us for this and enjoy a cuppa afterwards provided by Year 4 parents.

On Monday, 16th October at 6pm in St. Patrick’s Church there will be a meeting for students who are receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.  Parents and children attend this meeting. Details have gone home with the Year 2 students. Please keep these students, their parents and teachers in your prayers as they continue their preparation for this Sacrament.

This Thursday and Friday, the Year 5 students will be on excursion to Ballarat. They will have 2 very busy days and we hope that this time is both enjoyable and educational. We look forward to lots of pictures and fun stories to follow.

During the holidays, the School Council organised a Movie Night for families. There were around 70 people who attended this and enjoyed the evening. Thank you to Leah Wiseman and her helpers for organising the evening. There is a ladies movie night fundraiser being organised for Thursday 16th  November. Mark this date in your diary and please see details later in this newsletter.

The fete is only 4 weeks away. There will be a fete newsletter with information on requests for helpers, donations & stalls coming out tomorrow. I urge you to support the School Council in this great event. It is an amazing way to get involved socially and have a great time with the other parents. Check out our Fete facebook page.

During the holidays we have had garden beds prepared in the Year 2 area. A big thank you to Rod Welch from AP Delaney and also to Jason Kimball (for his garden design) and Leah Wiseman and helpers and helpers for organising this and all your hard work. It will be amazing when it is finished. We are hoping to have a working bee on November 5th to

Have a great week. Take care and God bless.
