Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

This week is Book Week. All students have been working in class with the shortlisted books for this occasion. We will be having our Book Week Parade as part of the Year 1 Assembly on Friday, 26th August. All students can dress up as their favourite book character and are invited to join in the fun. All parents and family members are welcome to join us for the Assembly and the Parade. The Assembly will begin at 9.30am and will be in Mercy Hall.

Next week is our Book Fair. The timetable for this has already been distributed and you can see the information on the notes page of our website. All classes will visit over the next couple of weeks.

This week is the last week of PSSA sport. All students in Years 3-6 will need to bring their sport uniform to school with them because of the Book Week parade. Students who have been part of the dance group for school based sport will be performing at the Performance Assembly in week 9.

Next week the Year 1 students will be taking part in the Water Awareness program. The feedback from this so far has been extremely positive from both staff and parents. All are commenting on how much improvement there was over the 5 day period. Photos are on our galleries page.

Please be aware of, and monitor closely, your child’s use of social media and the internet.  There have been some reports of inappropriate use over the last few weeks. Safe use of Technology is dealt with constantly at school and it is important that this is followed up at home. We appreciate your support in this.

Thank you to all of those parents and staff members who were able to assist at the Diocesan Carnival last Wednesday. Congratulations to all students who participated so well. Results for this are listed later in this newsletter.

We have had many talented students taking part in the local Eisteddfod. Congratulations to all of you. We are very proud of your achievements. If there are any results, then please let us know so that we can acknowledge them through the newsletter.

Next week we welcome Mick Cambey back from Long Service Leave. I thank Craig Farrar for looking after 5MC while Mick was away. I hope he has enjoyed his time with us.

Have a great week. Take care and God bless.

Marie
