Principal’s Message

Dear Parents

Today our Year 5 and 6 girls took part in the Gorgeous Girls Program. They were joined by girls from Holy Spirit, St Anne’s. St Patrick’s Holbrook and St Joseph’s Culcairn. This program is designed to improve the girl’s self-esteem and give them the confidence to develop healthy connections to peers, family and the community, unrelated to body image or beauty myths. The workshops involved confidence building, strengthening relationships and developing a stronger sense of self. Not only were the activities very worthwhile, it was also a great opportunity to interact with the girls from the other Catholic schools in our Deanery. Thank you to the Centacare School Wellbeing and Family Support workers who ran the day, with the support of the School Chaplains from the 3 Albury schools. It was a very worthwhile experience. We are investigating with Centacare, a similar day for the boys. Click here to view the gallery

On Monday we had our first Let’s Get Together session. The focus for the first one was to get to know each other. The feedback from the students and staff that I have spoken to has been very positive. Moving from room to room during the session, it was obvious that all students were well engaged in what they were doing. Thanks to Jane Fawcett for the massive organization that went into getting this going again this year. It is a very worthwhile experience for all involved.

Tonight is the Year 6 Confirmation Information night for parents and students. This will be held in St Patrick’s Church and commences at 7pm. Please keep the Year 6 students, their teachers and families in your prayers as they continue their preparation to receive Confirmation on Saturday 10th September.

Please be aware and monitor your child’s use of the Internet and social media. There have been some cases of inappropriate use reported to us. Most of these have occurred out of school hours. I urge you to monitor your child’s use of devices very carefully.
