Principal’s Message

Dear Parents

Welcome to Term 3. Hopefully it will not be as busy as the last 2 terms, but we shall see!

I hope that you all had a restful break with your children. It was great to see them back healthy and ready to go again.

We welcome Kirby Hilton back. Kirby is returning from maternity leave and will be working with Tony Brooks in 3BH. Kirby will also be spending one day per week in a learning support role. We also welcome Craig Farrar, who will be working with 5MC while Mick Cambey is on Long Service Leave for the next 6 weeks. Trent Perczyk and Marg Hanrahan will be in 4H for the next 2 weeks and Helen Ryan in 6BS for the next 3 weeks. We hope all of these people enjoy their time with us.

This Friday, the girls & boys from Years 3 and 4 will be taking part in the Trent Barret Rugby Gala day. Notes regarding this have gone home to the students involved or click here.

Orders for the Pie Drive are due back at school by this Friday 22nd July. Forms are available from the school office or click here.

The School Council is organising a Trivia Night for Parents and their friends for Friday 12th August in Mercy Hall. Details regarding this will be coming shortly. Please save this date on your calendar.

The Year 6 students are currently beginning preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. There will be a parent information evening next Wednesday 27th July at 7pm in St Patrick’s Church. Students also attend this evening. Please keep the Year 6 students, their teachers and parents in your prayers as they start this important step in their Faith journey.

As part of the Sporting Schools program, we have been able to access some funds to assist us to run a water awareness and swimming instruction program for our students in Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2. This funding has allowed for a significant reduction in the costs of conducting a program such as this.  Details regarding this will go home to the students concerned very shortly. Thank you to Mercedes Goss for organising this.

Next Wednesday, 27th July, our Year 5 and 6 girls will be involved in the Gorgeous Girls program. This program is conducted by the Centacare Wellbeing Practitioners and will involve students from St Anne’s as well as Holy Spirit. The program is aimed at promoting a healthy body image in young girls and tries to dispel the beauty myth that is so prevalent in our society. Notes with details are going home today with the Year 5 and 6 girls.

Have a great week. Take care and God bless.

Marie
