RE News

Thank you to all the families who attended our dinner with Fr Joel and Fr Sean last Wednesday. It was a lovely evening of fun, laughter and friendly conversation. The food was yummy too! It’s gatherings like this that remind me of how blessed we are here at St Patrick’s to have such wonderful parents and children in our community. Fr Joel was having so much fun he didn’t want to pack up!

We look forward to all our Eucharist Candidates attending Reconciliation this evening at 7pm in St. Patrick’s Church. This reconciliation is compulsory before receiving the First Eucharist. There will be Parish Reconciliation this Saturday at 10.00 – 11.00am  if you are unable to join us this evening. euch 7

A reminder that our Mass for Next Tuesday, 31st May at 10.30am has been cancelled due to renovations in the Church.

Last Sunday was Trinity Sunday. In John’s Gospel (16:12-15) we heard the words of Jesus:
holy trinityJesus said to his disciples: ‘I still have many things to say to you but they would be too much for you now. But when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth, since he will not be speaking as from himself but will say only what he has learnt; and he will tell you of the things to come. He will glorify me since all he tells you will be taken from what is mine. Everything the Father has is mine; that is why I said: All he tells you will be taken from what is mine.’God is a love relationship. The Father loves the Son and Jesus loves the Father, and from their love the Holy Spirit bursts forth to give life to the world. The love between them is so strong, even though each is a unique and individual divine person, they act and love as one.

O Blessed Trinity, one and three, fill me with your presence so that I may live and love with you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.

Our Lady Help of Christians

Tuesday, 24th May was the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians, the Patron Saint of Australia.  We look to Mary for her help, her protection and guidance. We celebrate the many gifts God gives us here in Australia – the diversity of our people, the beauty of this land, the values of freedom and peace that we treasure.

WE ask Mary to intercede for us.

With the help of Mary, we pray that we may embrace and respect all Australians. May we work towards reconciliation with our Indigenous brothers and sisters, and learn to live in harmony with all those who are different from ourselves.

With the help of Mary, we pray for those who seek hope in Australia, especially migrants and refugees. May we be a sign of true Christian hospitality and generosity to them.

With the help of Mary, we pray that Australians might be an example to the world in our concern for global peace, human rights and justice for all.
