Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Today we welcomed our Kinders for 2016. They spent some time in their classes and met their teachers and classmates. We hope that the children and their families enjoy the time with us. Thank you to our Student Council for escorting our new families to their rooms. There were many positive comments.

There has been great excitement about the rides going up for the fete on Friday evening. Preparations are in full swing. Just a reminder, that our supervision ends at 3.30pm each day. Students whose parents are at the school working on Friday afternoon will be able to stay at school under the supervision of parents. Students who do not have parents at school will need to go home and return with an adult to supervise them. We look forward to seeing you all for a great time on Friday evening.

Mrs. Craig and 2C Students sang Carols at the opening of the KMart ~ Salvation Army Wishing Tree this morning.  This is a great opportunity for our children to entertain our local community.

A reminder that the Years  5 & 6 Disco is on tonight in the Mercy Hall. This is a chance for our Stage 3 students to celebrate the year and be entertained by Steve Bowen.

At the moment, the staff are busy working on Semester 2 reports. These will be going home with students on Wednesday 9th December.

Staff are also very busy at the moment sorting and organizing classes for 2016. As I mentioned last year, this very delicate and well thought out process has often been disrupted by parents who ring at the last minute and make specific requests for class placement. Once again I am inviting parents to come and see me if they have any specific “class” requests for 2016. This opportunity will be “open” from Thursday 19th November through to Tuesday 24th November. I will try to accommodate your requests if possible, but I do ask you to place “trust” in the teachers to place students appropriately. A lot of time and thought goes into placing students in the various classes and many “drafts” are considered prior to finalizing a class. Unfortunately, no late requests will be accepted. I appreciate your support in this matter.

I look forward to catching up with you all at the fete. See you there.

Have a great week, take care and God bless.

Marie
