Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to the Year 5 students for a great assembly. I was unable to be there, but the reports I have received have been amazing. Well done to all of those students who received merit awards. A wonderful achievement. These awards are listed later in the newsletter. Also thank you to Year 6 parents for the morning tea.

Yesterday, the students in Years 3 and 5 were given their NAPLAN results to take home. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher should you have any questions. The results will be looked at and analysed as a whole in order to inform future directions for a whole school focus. They are however,  only one of the data sources that we will be analysed. Please keep these results in a safe place as they are required when enrolling in High School next year.

Once again, we have registered for the Woolworths earn and Learn vouchers. These vouchers have provided some very valuable resources for our school since we first registered. If you shop at Woolworths, please collect the vouchers and send them in for us. We would really appreciate it.

On Friday of next week (28th August) at 9.30am in the Mercy Hall, the Year 2 classes will be hosting the Book Week Assembly. All students will be invited to dress as their favourite book character. All families are welcome to join us for this. It is always a fun day. Children in Grades 3 – 6 bring their sports uniform to change into prior to Friday afternoon sport.

Our Book Fair will be held in St. Joseph’s Hall (under the Year 5 & 6 Classrooms) in September. Please check events for information.

I will be on long service leave for the remainder of this term. Marg Moore will be Acting Principal for the 4 week period and Tony Brooks will be Acting Assistant Principal as well as IT Co-Ordinator. Both will be available for contact if necessary.

Have a great week. Take care and God bless.

Marie
