Principal’s Message

Term 3   Week 3
29th  July, 2015

Dear Parents,

On Tuesday, we had our first gathering for our MJR award. Congratulations to Thomas Baird who received the first award for always greeting with a smile, and using people’s names. Well done Thomas.

Tomorrow the Year 5 students head to Canberra for their excursion. They will have a very busy couple of days. I’m sure that they will learn lots as well as having a great time. We wish you all the best and safe travelling.

Our new website is up and running and looking great. Thank you to Andrew and James from Netki for doing such a great job on the building and design of the website. Thanks also to Bill Quinn and Di Matsinos for all the time that they have devoted to ensuring the end product was as good as it is.

We have a group of staff members who have formed a Safe Supportive Schools group. This group has come out of our involvement with the National Day Against Bullying and Violence. Currently the whole staff are looking at a Wellbeing Policy for students, staff and parents. This would encompass a behavior Management Policy, as well as a Pastoral Care policy. The MJR awards and gatherings were an initiative of this group. I will keep you informed as to our progress. The Policies will be posted on our website when completed.

On Monday Years 3 & 4 competed at the Trent Barrett Shield Rugby League development day in Albury and yesterday we had 2 teams travel to Wagga to compete in the Paul Kelly Cup. Thank you to the many parents who went along to watch and help out. Thanks also to Roy Thompson, Brenda Seckold and Phil Shanahan for accompanying the teams. Well done to all students involved for the manner in which you participated.

Earn and Learn has started up again. If you are able to collect tokens, there is a collection box in the foyer of the office. This is a great way for us to be able to access classroom resources. Please get on to family, friends and neighbors to help out.

A gentle reminder, about appropriate use of the “pick up” zone of an afternoon, as well as safely crossing the road via the traffic lights. Your child’s safety is important to us.

Have  great week  and stay warm and dry.

Marie
