Principal’s Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

Last week we celebrated Catholic Schools Week. This was an opportunity  for us to celebrate what makes us unique as a Catholic school. Through Catholic education we strive to make a difference in the lives of those in our schools and in the wider community, by challenging our young people to live out the message of Jesus, and to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society. As part of the celebrations we held our annual Open Day. This was well attended and a great opportunity for us to showcase what our school offers as a faith-filled, learning community. Our Year 6 student leaders facilitated a short information session and then led our school tours. They acted with confidence, initiative and enthusiasm, and proved to be amazing ambassadors for our school. These students are to be commended on the way they conducted themselves and how they embraced the opportunity. We have received various feedback from prospective families who noted how proud these students are of their school.

We also congratulate our wonderful staff who received Wagga Wagga Diocese Service Awards for 40+ years of teaching. Jane Fawcett, Phil Shanahan, Marg Brooks, Fiona Cresser and Helen Ryan. A wonderful effort and we are very proud of your achievement.

We are now taking enrolment applications for 2024 Kinder children. If you wish to submit and enrolment application follow this link.

Tomorrow we celebrate our school patron, St Patrick. Children may wear green clothes. Celebrations commence with a whole school assembly at 10am which includes some Irish dancing performed by dancers from Cathie’s Celtic Dance. $2 home-made green treats will be available from the tuckshop at recess. Following recess, Mass will be celebrated in our Mercy Hall at 11.30am. We will then have an earlier lunch at 12.30 (parents welcome). From 1.30pm, the children will participate in some fun, outdoor activities. You are most welcome to attend some or all of this day.

Thank you to those of you who have already donated to our Easter raffle. If you wish to donate Easter eggs, please drop them to the front office. Tickets can be purchased via our QKR app. If you have family or friends who wish to purchase tickets, they can phone the front office. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 31st March.

Thanks to those of you who have already completed our uniform survey. This closes on March 20th. Please note this will not be a quick process, and should any changes be made, there will be a transition period.

Just a reminder that staff will participate in professional learning on the morning of the Albury Gold Cup half day holiday, Friday 24th March. This means students do not attend school at all on this day.

Enjoy your week

Liz
