Principal’s Message

Dear Parents & Carers

We are excited about our Family BBQ night which is this Friday 2nd December, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Food orders have now closed but if you missed out, feel free to bring along your own picnic dinner. BYO chairs/picnic rugs. We require a few extra helpers to man the BBQ’s, serve the food and drinks, and an extra set of hands to help set the BBQ’s up. Set up will commence at 4pm and cooking will commence shortly afterwards.  If you are able to assist can you please let the school office know by phone or email spa-info@ww.catholic.edu.au

Our Year 6 students have been very busy rehearsing for their Time Tours Production, What’s the Crime Mr Wolf? Session times are further in the newsletter and families can come along to any session. $5/family or gold coin donation individual.

There is a lot of discussion around “How much screen time for our children is enough?’ The following Australian Government website has some very useful information.

Just a reminder that any outstanding school fees are to be paid in full by this Friday 2nd December. We rely on this income to provide resources for our students, so appreciate your support around this. Should you be experiencing any difficulties in payment, please contact Cath in our front office.

On Sunday we began a new Liturgical Year with the season of Advent. Advent, which means ‘coming’ is a season of waiting, a time of anticipation for the birth of Jesus and the Second Coming of Christ.

Advent is a kind of wake-up call for us to be ready to welcome the Lord in our midst. ‘Be awake’ is the motto for Advent. It is a season to prepare for Christmas when Christ’s first coming is remembered. While this first coming of Jesus at Bethlehem will not happen again we prepare and long for a new coming of Jesus into our lives. Jesus comes when we are in trouble, when we rejoice, when we pray, when we celebrate and when we love one another in His name.

Regards

Liz

Advent Prayer:

Lord Jesus, Master of both the light and darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparation for Christmas. We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day. We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us. We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom. We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence. We are your people walking in darkness yet seeking the light. To you we say ‘Come Lord Jesus’. Amen.
