Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Once again it’s hard to believe that the term has come to an end. School life has been very busy and it has been lovely to see regular routines return.

We had an enjoyable  morning last Saturday at the Write Around the Murray- River of Stories awards ceremony. Our school was certainly well represented. A big congratulations to Sophia who was named winner of the Year 5/6 short story category, Macca who was runner up and to Josh, Aiden and Patrick who all received encouragement awards.

On Friday children can wear blue coloured clothes as part of our Catherine McAuley (Blue House Patron) celebrations. On this day we are holding a busking event with over 30 students performing. There will not be an overall winner of this event as the purpose is for the performers to have fun and share their talents whilst raising money for a charity.

Children are encouraged to bring in their coins of all denominations ( a great way to keep these secure is in a snap lock bag) to drop into the busking buckets. All money raised will be donated to Country Hope, a local charity dedicated to providing family centred support services to country children diagnosed with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. (a change of organisation we had previously advertised). As part of this event, local musician (and past student of St Patrick’s), Danny Phegan has accepted our invitation to attend! We are excited to meet him and listen to him share his talent.

Please note, our Prime Minister has declared a public holiday tomorrow, Thursday 22 September 2022 as a “National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty The Queen” thus students do not attend school.

Tuckshop is closed this Friday. There will be no recess or lunch orders available.

The Year 5 students travel to Ballarat for their excursion on the first day of term 4. We hope you all have an enjoyable time.

We offer our prayers and thoughts to Mercedes Goss and her family following the sudden passing of her sister, Marisa Copperwaite, last week.

Tuckshop will be closed this Friday for cleaning.

Students return to school for Term 4 on Tuesday 11th October. There will be  a changeover period of 2 weeks for summer uniform to be worn. The clothing pool is open Tuesday afternoons during school term from 2.30 to 3.15pm if you wish to purchase any preloved uniforms.

Regards

Liz
