RE News

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the families of the St Patrick’s Parish School community for you support and participation in the Sacramental Programs, School Masses, liturgies and civic celebrations (ANZAC, NAIDOC Week, National Reconciliation Week and Remembrance Day) over the 12 years of my time as the Religious Education Coordinator. Your participation and contributions have been very much appreciated. I am very proud to have served our school community in this role. As a  Catholic school we are a Christ-centred community where we try every day to live out the values espoused by Jesus. Over the last two years our dedicated staff have worked diligently on creating a new Vision and Mission Statement. This will be launched early in 2022. This statement encapsulates who we are, what our purpose is and what we strive for as a Catholic School. We look forward to your involvement in incorporating it into our school life next year. I congratulate Mercedes Goss on taking on the role of REC. I know she will serve our community well.

I would also like to thank Fr Joel for his guidance, support and openness as we worked side by side for all these years. Joel generously spent a lot of time with our children for Class Masses, Reconciliation, Encounters with Jesus, Year 2 picnics, Year 3 dinners before First Eucharist, classroom visits and so much.more. We have been extremely blessed to have Fr Joel as our Parish Priest for the last 10 years.

Confirmation

Congratulations to our Year 6 children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, 30th November. It was third time lucky as Confirmation had been cancelled twice earlier in the year. The Year 6 teachers, Mrs Shauni McKenzie, Mrs Jo Good, Mrs Margie Moore and Mr Rhys Dempsey spent many weeks preparing the children for Confirmation and we thank them for their commitment to teaching our faith and for supporting and guiding the children to this new stage in their lives; to a new beginning of being more fully a part of the body of Christ, the Christian community. Thank you to the Year 6 Confirmation candidates for being so accepting and adaptable as each time required different forms of practising. It was wonderful to have all of the Year 6 cohort together at this very important celebration. Click here for a link to the photos via our Galleries website page.

Year 6 Graduation

Graduation Mass is on Monday, 13th December at 5.45pm in St Patrick’s Church. This will be followed by the Year 6 Awards Assembly in Mercy Hall at 6.45pm. Details have already been sent home in Compass.

Our End of Year Liturgy will take a different form without us gathering together but we will listen to special scripture readings and pray special prayers as we prepare for the coming of Jesus at Christmas.

I wish you all a happy and blessed Christmas time and a relaxing and happy holiday.
