Co-Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

A warm welcome back to all our St Patrick’s families for the 2020 school year! I hope that the Christmas/New Year period allowed you to experience some rest and relaxation, and that your children  are ready for a year full of exciting and valuable learning opportunities. We are very excited to have several new families starting with us this year and we look forward to establishing relationships with you, as together we support your children in their journey at St Patrick’s. To our existing families, we look forward to continuing working in partnership with you. Our Kindergarten students have made a very smooth transition into our community over the last two days and we’re sure that they are enjoying a much needed rest today. We would like to extend a very warm welcome to Corey Miller, Morgan Gallagher and Elecia Turner who are new to our teaching staff, and we welcome back Kylie James and Cindy Whitfield.

All information in relation to the school is now sent to parents via Compass system and App. This is our school system and every parent has a login and password they can access. Emails, class news, invites, student reports, parent/teacher interviews and also absentee notes are recorded and sent via this system. Please contact the office if you haven’t received your email and instructions on downloading and accessing this very important tool for communication.

Tomorrow the Year 3-6 students will participate in our annual Swimming Carnival at the Albury Swim Centre. Buses will transport the students to the pool at 9am and they will return to school by 2.45pm. Thank you to those of you who have volunteered your time to help at this event. Click here for an information note.

Our Opening School and Student Investiture Mass is being held on Friday, 14th February at 11.45am in St. Patrick’s Church. This is  special occasion for our new Year 6 Student Council and we invite everyone to join our school community to celebrate our new school year. Following this we will have the official blessing of the Sensory Garden and a family BBQ.

The Sensory Garden has been completed and the children are enjoying the fun it provides. This will be officially opened and blessed on Friday 14th February. Also during the holidays there was some work completed around the school. A wall was taken out in the Kindergarten room providing some extra learning space. This will be enjoyed by our new Kinder cohort. Thank you to Daniel Hibberson and his helpers who removed some rubbish in the Zone 3 area and the tyres that were in the Zone 4 playground. In the coming weeks work will commence in repairing our outdoor tables and hopefully some of our cubbies will arrive.

A reminder that a school fee schedule will be sent home in the coming days. We would like to bring to your attention some changes occurring across the Diocese regarding fees. Firstly, you will see by your statement that this year the full 2020 calendar years’ school fees have been invoiced at the beginning of Term 1. Secondly, a Diocesan School Fee Payment Agreement has been developed to outline both payment plan options and important dates regarding payment of fees. Please read the Agreement carefully when it is sent home. Regardless of your chosen payment option, ALL fee payers are required to complete and return the signed Agreement to school by 28th February, 2020, confirming the preferred option and chosen payment schedule for 2020.

Save the dates:

Friday 14th February: 11.45am: Opening School Mass followed by the blessing and official opening of the Sensory Garden, and welcome BBQ for all families. Hoping you can join us for this event.

Sunday 1st March: 16th Annual Golf Day @ Thurgoona Golf Club.

Kind regards,

Liz and Rob.
