Co-Principal’s Message

Dear Parents

Term 1 is quickly coming to an end. Walking around our school and through our classrooms, it has been affirming to witness the meaningful teaching and learning that is taking place. Our teachers are committed to providing optimal learning opportunities for our students and the children are embracing these with great energy and enthusiasm. The students in Year 5 and 6 are embracing the use of chromebooks, and their teachers have been eager to support this by increasing their own knowledge and establishing routines and practices that best support this. All Stage 3 classes are now getting familiar of how to best use G suite (Google Suite)- which comprises of domains such as Gmail, Google docs, Google slides and Google classroom, to name a few. Through the use of technology we are endeavouring to upskill our students in the digital world in which we live, and encouraging them to be responsible digital citizens.

Kindergarten have gradually settled into their new school environment and it is exciting to watch them as they commence their learning journey, making connections as they are introduced to reading and writing.

Year 3 hosted the school assembly last Friday and it was very entertaining. Thank you to the Teachers and Students for all their hard work preparing and performing. Also thank you to Year 4 parents for providing morning tea.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making our Cross Country such an enjoyable and successful day.  Photos of the Cross Country and Year 3 Assembly can be viewed on our Galleries Website Page.

As part of the development of Infants Learning Space and to encourage play base learning the school would like to purchase up to 10 purpose-built cubby houses. You can view the letter with information on our notes website page.

ALBURY ANZAC DAY 25TH APRIL 2019

Please be reminded that we will be marching in the ANZAC day parade. Following the march Rob and I will accompany our School Captains to the service at the Monument where we will lay a wreath on behalf of our school.

Details for this event are as follows:

  • Students are to wear their formal winter uniform
  • Students are to be lined up by 8.45am in Macauley Street on the North side of Dean Street.
  • Wearing of medals:  a reminder that children wearing medals of family members are to wear them on the right breast.  Only a veteran may wear their medals over their heart on the left breast.
  • At the end of the march schools will turn left into Townsend Street. All schools are to continue down Townsend Street towards the intersection with Smollett Street to ensure there is no congestion at the end of the Parade.

We are currently conducting interviews for New 2020 Kinder enrolments. If you are an existing family we will be conducting these next term so let us know if you need a Kinder Package sent home or you can collect one from the office.

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to school life, in any way during the Term. We wish you all a very Happy and Holy Easter, and hope that you can find some time to relax and spend time with family and friends.

The last day of term 1 is Friday 12th April @ 3pm and children return to school for Term 2 on Monday, 29th April.

Kind regards, Liz and Rob.
