Principal’s Message

Dear Parents & Friends

Thanks to Liz

I would like to express my deep appreciation to Liz Johnston for her time with us here at St Patrick’s. Liz has filled in for me in the Principal’s role and replaced Margie in the Assistant Principal’s role over the term and has done a wonderful job.

It is also important that we acknowledge and thank Bede and St Anne’s for allowing her to come to our school and managing the disruptions that it caused for them.

ASPA Performance

I invite parents to attend the ASPA singing concert from 12.30 until 1.30pm in the Mercy Hall tomorrow, 19th September. Students from Stage 2 & 3 at St Pat’s Albury, St Anne’s, North Albury and St Mary’s, Corowa will perform as a massed choir. This promises to be a fantastic event so please make an effort to come along.

Sisters of Mercy Celebration Liturgy

Thursday 27th September @ 10.15am in the Mercy Hall we will be acknowledging our Sisters of Mercy and all their work in their sesquicentennial Year at a whole school Paraliturgy.  Please come and join us for this very special occasion that we are celebrating.

Favourite Sports Colour Clothes Day

Also next week on  Thursday, 27th September,  children can dress in their favourite sports colours and donate a gold coin to raise funds for Mercy Works

Year 4 Assembly

Next Friday, 28th September, 9.30am in the Mercy Hall Year 4 will be entertaining the whole school on the last day of Term 3. Everyone is welcome to join us and you are invited to stay for a cuppa afterwards provided by Year 3.

Needles and Fruit

This is a copy of a message that I sent to staff on the 18th September.

Effective immediately and until further instructed, any fruit that is brought into the school that is to be shared, has to be pre-cut prior to being served. This applies to all fruit. This also applies to any fruit sold through the canteen. You may now be aware that a needle has been found in strawberries in Lavington. In QLD a needle has also been found in banana and overnight in an apple in Sydney.

Thanks for your support

Confirmation

Thanks to everyone involved in the Confirmation Mass. It was a wonderful experience for the children and I have had some fantastic feedback from families. You can view lots of photos on our galleries page.

Family Mass

Last Saturday Night we celebrated our School Parish Mass. A big thank you to all the families that attended. I would especially like to praise the readers and the choir for their wonderful performance.

Sister Pat

Sister had a fall at home and is currently on the 3rd Floor of the Mercy Hospital recovering from her injuries. We are keeping her in our daily prayers at school.

School Closing and opening:

Just a reminder to parents:

School closes on Friday 28th September Term 3 @ 3.00pm

School resumes Monday 15th October @ 8:50am

School closes for Term 4 Wednesday 19th December @ 3.00pm.

Supervision of Children and Duty of Care

Just a reminder that we provide active supervision from 8.20am in the morning and again until the last bus leaves around 3.20pm in the afternoon. If children haven’t been collected by this time they are taken to wait in the office area from where parents can collect them. When arriving late in the morning children must be signed in at the office by a parent or guardian. If this doesn’t occur children will be marked as “Late No Explanation”. This will appear on the attendance data as an absence.

Summer Uniform

Children are able to wear their summer uniform at the beginning of term 4. There will be a 2 week changeover period. After this time all children are to be in the proper summer uniform.

Regards

Rob
